Why is my Latitude Infinity credit card being updated to a Latitude Gem Visa credit card?
We are streamlining our suite of credit card products. Subject to eligibility criteria Latitude Infinity Rewards Visa and Latitude Infinity Rewards Platinum Visa credit cards will be updating to a Latitude Gem Visa credit card. This ensures customers can continue to use a Latitude credit card with additional features and continued ongoing support.
When will this happen?
Subject to eligibility criteria, Infinity Rewards Visa and Infinity Rewards Platinum Visa credit cards will be updated to Latitude Gem Visa credit card commencing March 2026.
Infinity Rewards Visa credit cards will cease to function 21 calendar days after your Gem Visa card is issued. This means that you will no longer be able to spend or use your Infinity credit card.
Am I eligible for the update?
To be eligible:
- Your account must be active and in good standing with no arrears.
- Customers who already have a Gem Visa are not eligible for this update.
What will change with my account?
You will receive a new Latitude Gem Visa credit card and a new account number. Your credit limit and current balance will remain the same.
- Any additional cardholders will receive new cards.
- Your existing direct debit arrangement will automatically transfer to your new Gem Visa account at the point of transfer. You don’t need to do anything.
- If you have direct debits or recurring payments in place to pay e.g., utility bills etc., you will need to change your direct debit or recurring payments set up with your new Gem Visa credit card.
What new features will I get on my new Gem Visa credit card?
- 0% interest for 6 months on general purchases of $250+ when you select a plan in the Latitude App or Latitude Service Centre.
- Access to 6 to 60 months interest free payment plans available at participating retail partners.
- Earn 3% back in Latitude Rewards on eligible spend across groceries, dining, food delivery, and movie and theatre ticket purchases – after spending $1,000 or more on general purchases in a statement period.
- Balance transfers are available, subject to promotional offers. Learn more about Gem Visa features
Are there changes to fees and interest rates?
These are the key changes. For more information, please refer to the previous communications we’ve sent you, or view the fees and charges.
Fees:
- Monthly credit card fee: The credit card fee will be waived for the first 12 months after transfer. After the 12-month waiver period ends, the monthly fee will apply.
- Balance Transfer Fee: 3% of the balance transfer amount.
Do I need to apply for a Latitude Gem Visa card?
No. Eligible Infinity customers will be automatically updated. You’ll receive pre-communication followed by a welcome pack with your new Latitude Gem Visa credit card.
How do I activate my new card?
- Activate via the Latitude App or the Latitude Service Centre.
- Provide consent, follow the prompts, and set your PIN.
- Sign the back of your physical card.
- Need more help? See Activate Your Card.
Can I still use my old Infinity card?
Yes. You can continue to use your Infinity credit card for 21 calendar days from the date your new Gem Visa card is issued. After this period, your Infinity card will be blocked and cannot be used for new transactions.
For customers who do not update to a Gem Visa, the Infinity card is expected to be retired toward the end of the year. You will receive written notice in advance before the card is retired. Once this occurs, the card will no longer be available for new spending and can only be used to repay any outstanding balance.
How do I view my old and new account transactions and statements?
After the update, log in to the Latitude App or the Latitude Service Centre select the old Infinity card tile to view historical transactions and statements (view only).
If you already have access to the Latitude App or Latitude Service Centre, your new Gem Visa account will be automatically linked.
How do I view my new Gem Visa account details?
Log in to the Latitude App or the Latitude Service Centre and select the Latitude Gem Visa tile to view current transactions and statements.
Can I reopen my old Infinity account?
No. Once the update is complete, the old account cannot be reopened.
What happens to my credit limit and any outstanding balance?
If eligible, your credit limit and outstanding balance will be transferred to your new Latitude Gem Visa account.
I already have a Latitude Gem Visa, am I eligible?
No. If you already hold a Latitude Gem Visa account, your Infinity account is not eligible for this update. You can continue using your existing Gem Visa.
Your existing Infinity credit card will be retired towards the end of the year, and you will receive notice in advance when this is going to happen.
What happens to my Shopper’s Protection Insurance if I have a Latitude Infinity credit card?
If you currently have Shopper’s Protection Insurance on your Infinity credit card, your cover will continue.
-
If your Latitude Infinity credit card is updated to a Latitude Gem Visa:
Your insurance will automatically transfer to your new credit card account. Your cover will stay the same, including benefits, limits, exclusions, and your ability to make a claim. Any annual or maximum policy limits you’ve already used will carry over and will not reset.
-
If your Latitude Infinity credit card is not updated to a Latitude Gem Visa:
Your existing Shopper’s Protection Insurance will remain in place.
- If there is still a balance on your account and you continue to receive statements, insurance premiums will continue to be charged, even if your Latitude Infinity credit card is scheduled for decommission later this year, and your cover will remain active in line with the policy’s terms, conditions, benefits, limits and exclusions.
- If there is no balance on your account, and your account remains open, your insurance will become dormant. This means premiums will stop being charged, but the policy is not cancelled.
- If you close your account, your insurance will automatically cancel.
-
Claims on dormant policies:
You can still make a claim on a dormant policy, provided:
- The claim event meets the policy terms, and
- it is submitted within the period of insurance.

I don’t want to upgrade, what are my options?
- Do not activate your new Gem Visa credit card or contact us to opt out of the upgrade.
- If you choose to opt out, your Infinity card may continue to work for a limited time. However, you will no longer be able to make new purchases using your Infinity card in the future when the card is retired. We’ll let you know before any changes take effect.
- You may close your account once your balance is $0. If a balance remains, please continue making payments in line with your credit contract. Refer to your monthly statements for details. Once the balance is cleared, you can request account closure.
