We’re rolling out new David Jones Credit Card General Terms and Conditions. As part of this, we have simplified some key terminology, updated the terms that apply for unauthorised transactions, and we’re introducing two new fees.
You’ll start to see these updates in your statements, notice some changes when navigating the Latitude App or Latitude Service Centre, and maybe even in letters, SMS, and emails you may receive from us going forward.
If you haven’t already provided us with an email address, you will need to do so, so that we can contact you with any important information about your account.
What's changing?
- New terminology – Some terms are changing, but their meaning remains the same.
- Clearer terms – We’ve shortened and simplified the wording to make your terms and conditions easier to read.

Limitation of liability – We’ve modified your liability position if an unauthorised transaction occurs on your account.

Key terminology updates
We’ve updated some of the terms in your Latitude Credit Card General Terms and Conditions. The meaning remains the same, just clearer!

When are the new Terms and Conditions coming?
- For new David Jones customers from 25 June 2025.
- For existing David Jones customers (accounts opened on or before 24 June 2025) from 30 July 2025.
FAQs
Yes
1) For David Jones Premiere or David Jones Prestige, a balance transfer fee of up to 3.00% of the balance transfer amount, or in accordance with the specific balance transfer offer, will be charged to your account if you take up a balance transfer offer; and
2) If you close your account and still have a small credit balance of less than $20, a credit balance processing fee of up to $19.99 may apply. If you tell us how you’d like the remaining balance refunded, we won’t charge this fee.

You and any additional cardholder are not responsible for losses that:
- Occurred after you notify us of loss or theft or breach in security of your PIN, using an account access method not agreed to be used for your account; or
- Exceed your daily limit of credit limit,
- Occur using an account access method not agreed by you to be used for your account, or
- Cause by our negligence or mistake
You are responsible for unauthorised transactions caused by your or an additional cardholder’s:
- Fraudulent acts or omissions,
- Failure to protect the card, PIN or password, or accidental disclosure of your PIN or password to a third party,
- Delay in notifying us of any misuse, loss or theft of your card or card details, or breach in security of your PIN or password.
When notifying you that monthly statements of account or other notices are accessible in the Latitude Service Centre, we may send you an SMS text message to a mobile phone number you nominate.
Previously, such notices would only be sent to your nominated email address.
You’ll also need to provide a valid email address to receive important account communications.
