Q. Does Latitude’s consumer credit insurance provide cover for COVID-19 related events?
A. Depending on the event and the cover you selected, you may be able to claim if a COVID-19 related event means you are unable to work due to sickness or involuntary unemployment.

Q. Can I claim on the Involuntary Unemployment benefit if I am self-employed and my business stops trading or shuts down because of impacts from COVID-19?
A. Self-employed customers are not excluded from Involuntary Unemployment, however coverage depends on the situation.
We encourage self-employed customers to lodge a claim if you have insurance and your business stops trading due to impacts of COVID-19, so we can assess your individual circumstances.
Q. Can I claim on the Involuntary Unemployment benefit if I have been stood down or my hours have been cut to zero due to impacts from COVID-19?
A. Usually you are not terminated if you have only been stood down, however COVID-19 is creating some unique situations and we encourage you to make an online claim so we can assess your individual circumstances.
Q. Can I claim on the Involuntary Unemployment benefit if I have been terminated because of impacts from COVID-19?
A. Involuntary Unemployment pays a benefit if you have been terminated or made redundant, including voluntary redundancy, provided you meet the other policy terms. For example, there is a waiting period which varies depending on your policy and you are not covered if you knew of your impending unemployment before the policy began. Q. Can I claim on the Disability benefit if I have contracted COVID-19?
A. Disability pays a benefit if you are unable to work due to sickness or injury, provided you meet the other policy terms. For example, there is a waiting period of between 14 and 30 days depending on your policy and you are not covered for some pre-existing medical conditions.
